Interculturality in Health

https://public.tableau.com/app/profile/bireme/viz/interculturalidad-en/evidence-map

This map analyzed the available evidence to answer the question: How can sociocultural adaptations be developed in health services that include the traditional medicines of ethnic groups? The goal was to support health professionals, decision-makers, researchers, and ethnic communities in Colombia and the Americas in the development of public policies, plans, programs, and research that integrate interculturality into health services. A total of 105 studies were analyzed, focusing on strategies that promote sociocultural adaptations, community participation, intercultural training, dialogue of knowledge systems, and models of care. The documented interventions aim to ensure equitable, high-quality, and non-discriminatory access to culturally appropriate services, strengthen community governance, and promote “Buen Vivir” (Good Living).
